About me

Hello World! Welcome to DELHI NOMAD.

I am Himanshu, a New Delhi based mechanical engineer by profession, a traveler by passion and a poet by heart. In my mid twenties, I am enjoying the eternal benefits of bachelorhood :). I am from a small town of Northern India, very near to the Shivalik ranges of Himalayas and very much similar to the ones you have read in Ruskin Bond stories. When I am not traveling, I like to write poems and experiment in the kitchen :).

My Travel Philosophy

Rabindranath Tagore has written about “Home” and “Path”. Those who love home have the tendency of being satisfied. Those who love path wish to explore more and more. And then the wise say that life is all about finding a balance between home and path. But I have a bit path more in me that makes me always willing to explore the wonders of nature. My eager feet are always ready for the unknown places and people.

The beginning: Once Upon a Time…

When i think how it all began, I go back in my childhood, when me along with my Family went to Uttarkashi, an important town of Uttarakhand. All thanks to my Tau Ji (Father’s elder brother) who was posted there as a Senior Government Official in Uttarkashi.  It was my first journey deep into Himalayas. There was so much to see everywhere that I started making notes in a small diary wherever I went during the trip. Making the travel notes followed for all my journeys after that.
